Quality
A DPV has to fulfill many criteria. To always design a high-capacity scooter, it needs
much more than just to process a pile of material.
The production requires in addition to a professional engineering a meticulous material
selection, a manufacturing with high technical standards as well as quality control
granting no compromises.
Bonex faces this challenge – every day again.
Material selection
The high class Bonex scooter housing is manufactured out of various materials, such
as Aluminium, Delrin and Carbon, to fulfill the different topics best as possible.
POM (or Delrin)
This material grade is highly estimated for its impact strength. It also features the needed
flexibility, to for example absorb impacts, even with low temperature environment. At the same
time it is strong enough, to avoid deformation. POM is used for the nose and various attachment parts.
Aluminium
Aluminium is produced in numerous alloys and has to meet different requirements. It must be
able to become eloxadized, to reach stability and good corrosion resistance.
For that reason we abstain from any weld to avoid material fatigue and to keep it in high quality.
By using a sacrificial anode of cinc additionally avoids effectively corrosion at rear section.
Therefore Bonex-scooter are capable for saltwater use without limitation.
Carbon
The high power material grade is fabricated in complex fibre craft of textile meadows
with special epoxy. It offers a smooth and corrosion resistant surface and is above that
extremely stable against pressure having very little operating weight. Also the solely
use in saltwater leads to no material fatigue with carbon. Equally annealing of our
tubes and shrouds cross-links the inner structure of the material long-lasting.
Engineering & Production
Our scooter production combines all substantial manufacturing processes under
one umbrella.
The range of production processes is under our control and the ways of information and
reaction are kept short.
All new and further developments are compiled with a 3D-CAD system. This way already
upon development strength calculations and volume models can be done.
The complex pieces are produced to the pin point in high quality on 5-axle CNC-machining centres.
Optic survey equipment checks the tight manufacturing tolerances.
Upon final assembly all producing steps are documented for controlling reasons.
No scooter will be send out to our customers before having passed a testing procedure in our
test tank. We plot and record run-time, thrust and all relevant parameters.
